Minutes of February 6, 2023 C.V.W.C. meeting
- The meeting began with guests Lori Eberhart, Chase Burtness and Lynn Koch.

- Outdoor Journey for Girls will be July 11-13.
- $700,000 for trail repair this year.
- Plantskydd (dried blood) applied to trees to repel deer. Trees are doing well.
- 4.5-5# wipers caught last year from George Wyth Lake.
- Reported on Urban Deer Hunt in metropolitan area
- 13 public zones.
- Katoski Greenbelt is does only.
- 290 tags issued to 135 hunters with 132 deer harvested.

- Reported on Riverview Recreation Area (Mitchell Pits).

- T.I.P. report resulted in 99 tickets for poaching to 4 individuals.
- Bird flu has been verified in crows in Black Hawk County.
- Answered questions regarding goose control.

- Tim called the meeting to order at 7:43 pm with 27 members present.
- Roll call of officers was taken with two members absent.
- Minutes of the January 2 meeting were read and approved.
- Financial report it was given by Jeff and approved.
- Tournaments:
- Club has been given four spots for the NTC. 300 teams expected.
- 2022 tournament result lists have been sent to The Walleye Federation.
- Boat numbers will be drawn at the March meeting.
- Tournament Committee will have a rules meeting before the April 1 tournament.
- DNR report:
- Club official April 15 Trout Stocking event. Fish will be delivered Saturday between 10:00 and 11:00.
- Milo will get parking variance letter from City of Cedar Falls.
- Mercury Study results will be presented at March meeting.
- Boat Show income of $736.
- Sport Show will be March 10-12. Sign up sheet at March meeting for this Official Volunteer event.
- Pizza Ranch official Club fundraiser will be February 15.
- Banner will be updated in March. New Trophy Sponsors are J&L Marine and Builders Select.
- Moved by Terry Vanlaningham, 2nd by Milo Gadow to sponsor five girls to Outdoor Journey for Girls. Motion passed.
- Tim presented four lists of things needed to be done to organize:
- Kids’ fishing instruction events
- Banner update
- Outdoor Journey for Girls
- Road cleanup
- Five teams have signed up so far for Lake of the Woods trip.
- Drawing was held for Scheels gift cards: Rick Harris and Jeff Soash.
