​​Minutes of February 5, 2024 C.V.W.C. meeting​

• Special guest Lori Eberhard spoke:
  • She has been at George Wyth 23 years
  • George Wyth State Park
    • 405,000 visitors to George Wyth last year
    • Will get new shop and office
    • Lake is over seven feet low
  • Special bow season
    • 30th year for Black Hawk County
    • 110 bow hunters last year
    • 162 deer harvested
• Tim called the meeting to order at 7:42 pm with 23 members present.
• Roll call of officers was taken with 2 members absent.
• Minutes of the January 4 meeting were read and approved.
• Financial report it was given by Jeff and approved.
  • Banquet expenses were covered by donations.
• New banner was presented.
• Tournaments:
  • Recommendation being considered to make payout more equitable.
  • Boat numbers will be drawn at the March meeting.
• Pizza Ranch Official Fundraiser will be February 28.
• Tim asked for assistance from the Board to set up meeting room prior to meetings.
• Official Recognition Banquet for 2023 was held February 3 at UAW Hall.
  • 79 meals served.
  • Volunteer of the Year – Jay Dietz.
  • Anglers of the Year – Carl Holten & Marty Stuefen.
  • Lifetime Achievement – Randy Heiberger.
• Iowa Boat, RV and Vacation Show was January 26-28.
  • Low turnout.
  • $150 net from Club raffles.
  • Raffle item winners:
    • LP griddle – Laney Poyner
    • Meat bundle – Jason Tweton
• Scholarship balanced 12/31/2023 was $4801.35.
• Liaisons or chairmen are needed for 2024 events.
• Steve Grimm, Terry Blank and Rick Harris volunteered to run the election and count ballots.
• Additional nominations for Board members and Tournament Board were taken.
• Speakers are needed for future meetings.
• Drawing was held for Scheels gift cards: Bob Piper & Terry Blank.
• Drawing was held for silver coins: Jordan Tagtow, Lori Eberhard & Jeff Soash
• Meeting adjourned @ 8:25.
