Minutes of August 1, 2022 C.V.W.C. meeting

​Darrell called the meeting to order at 6:57 pm with 19 members present.
  • Roll call of officers was taken with seven members absent.
  • Minutes of the July 6 meeting were read and approved.
  • Financial report it was given by Jeff and approved.
  • Milo reported Dan Kirby is mad about the cattails in North Prairie. The City of Cedar Falls tried to pull them with the apparatus the Club provided. It was ineffective as it just rode above the roots. City will spray to kill them off.
  • Mark Wynn requested help with pellet structures for Greenbelt Lake on August 15-16. Bring gloves, lunch and water.
  • Outdoor Journey for Girls:
  • Club sponsored five girls.
  • Had lots of bluegills to clean.
  • 20 girls are attended.
  • Angelo reported April walleyes stocked in area rivers.
    • Cedar River
      • 21,000 at Plainfield
      • 13,000 at Waverly
      • 20,000k at C-57
      • 11,500 at river access in George Wyth State Park
    • Shellrock River
      • 4200 below dam at Greene
      • 4200 at Heery Woods State Park in Clarksville
    • West Fork
      • 4350 north of Big Marsh
      • 4350 at Thunder Woman Park
  • Family Fun Day August 21. 12-3 pm
  • Sign-up sheet was passed around.
  • Impact Outdoors is participating.
  • Impact Outdoors giving free fish poles to first 150 kids. Moved, seconded and passed to purchase 50 additional poles to give out to next 50 kids.
  • Bottled water, more fish and bait are needed. Milo will get bait from Cook’s Outdoors.
  • Club Family Picnic following Family Fun Day.
  • Open to Club members and their families.
  • 4-5 pm Social Hour, 5-6 pm meal, 6 pm short recognition.
  • Sign-up sheet was passed around.
  • Terry Vanlaningham said Lake of the Woods trip will be October 8-15. 16 have signed up.
  • Scheel’s gift certificate drawing – Randy Heiberger and Jeff Soash.
  • Meeting adjourned at 7:27.
