Minutes of July 1, 2024 C.V.W.C. meeting

• Tim called the meeting to order at 7:00 with 22 members present.
• Roll call of Board members – all present.
• June 3 minutes read and approved.
• Treasurer report by Jeff read and approved.
• Tournament report:
  • Lake Pepin/Pool 4:
    • 11 boats participated.
    • 67 fish recorded.
• DNR Report:
  • Greg Gelwicks - Manchester biologist to possibly speak next winter.
  • Outdoor Journey for Girls – 22 crappies frozen so far.
  • Mark Wynn:
    • Hickory Hills habitat – no info yet on volunteers needed.
    • Walleye stocking:
      • Cedar River before high water (3/4” fingerling):
        • Plainfield - 25,454.
        • Janesville - 33,636.
      • West Fork & Shellrock – no fish stocked.
      • Greene – 14,000.
• President’s Report:
  • Outdoor Journey for Girls:
    • Registrations are down – only 16 girls to date.
    • Fishing instruction at George Wyth – July 16 @ 2:00 pm.
    • Cleaning instruction at Hickory Hills – July 18 @ 8:00 am.
  • Family Fun Day:
    • Aug. 11.
    • Sign-up sheet passed around.
    • Possible raffle prize discussed – approx. $50.
  • Military Family Day:
    • August 18 – 10:00-1:00.
    • 40 kids in three groups.
    • Sign-up sheet passed around.
  • Boat Show & Sports Show registration:
    • Booth registration – double booth for $200 per event again.
    • Moved by Steve Maley to approve, 2nd Steve Grimm, motion carried.
  • Grundy Center Family Day:
    • July 4
    • Board recommendation to donate 6 rods, tackle and line.
    • Moved by Steve Grimm, 2nd Donnie Soash, motion carried.
• Club Donation Policy was discussed at Board meeting.
  • To be added to bylaws.
• Need more ideas for speakers.
• Fishing info and techniques:
  • 24” walleye from George Wyth.
  • Possibly include non-tournament anglers in tournament pre-fishing activities.
• New member Mike Bartlett was introduced.
