Minutes of February 2, 2026 Official C.V.W.C. meeting.

Lynn Koch, Iowa DNR

• Five years in Black Hawk County.
• 101k deer harvested in 2025.
• 40 counties with Chronic Wasting Disease (11 more than 2024).
• 20-year high pheasant count but hunter numbers are down.
• Duck numbers are going down.

Lori Eberhart, Iowa DNR

• Outdoor Journey for Girls, July 14-16, Hickory Hills.
• New shop and office for George Wyth Park in 2026.
• Family Fun Day, August 16.
• Urban deer hunt – 172 deer harvested.

 
Tim called the meeting to order at 7:25 with 27 members present.

• Roll call of Board members – one absent.
• January 5 minutes read and approved.
• Treasurer report by Jeff read and approved.
• No Tournament report.
• DNR Report:
  • Mike Siepker to speak May 4.
• President’s Report:
  • Trout Stocking, April 25
  • Boat Show:
    • Successful raffle sales.
    • $74 donated for DNR RAS (Recirculating Aquaculture System) at Rathbun Hatchery.
    • Donations to continue at Sport Show.
  • TWF memberships for 2026 are paid.
  • Volunteers needed for election.
  • A plant was sent to Kenny Roeder’s family.
  • A volunteer is needed to send memorials.
    • Banquet -sign-up sheet was passed around.
  • Ken-Mar-Kee trip to be June 13-20.
    • 17th year.
    • Need to know who’s going by the end of March.
