Minutes of August 4, 2025 Official C.V.W.C. meeting.
Tim called the meeting to order at 7:00 with 24 members present.

• Roll call of Board members – one absent.
• July 7 minutes read and approved.
• Treasurer report by Jeff read and approved.
• Tournament report:
  • Pool 10 – Harpers Ferry to be August 9.
    • 17 boats.
    • $272 Club share
    • $175 in 7 new memberships
    • Recommended to have a 5-gallon bucket in boat to refresh fish due to high temps.
  • Participation numbers up this year, smallest tournament had 16 boats vs 10 last year.
• DNR Report:
  • Hickory Hills 1/3 full as of July 8.
• Netted Big Woods Lake
  • 10”-28” catfish.
  • 2nd pull 263 fish, 500# total, 90% catfish Nets don’t catch walleyes.
• President’s Report:
  • Walleye Stocking/Highway Cleanup to be October 18.
    • Move by Jay D., 2nd by Steve G. to allocate $5000 for walleyes. Motion passed.
    • Will stock Harold Getty Lake, Grundy Lake and George Wyth Lake..
  • Thank you from Grundy-Tama County Ikes for fishing gear donation for July 4 event.
  • Family Fun Day to be August 17.
    • Rod purchased and reel donated by John Sampson’s widow to be raffled.
  • Black Hawk County Conservation event
    • Fishing instruction by CVWC
    • August 15, 5:00-7:00
    • Greenbelt Lake.
  • DNR walleye stocking:
    • Fairport hatchery was flooded out. DNR shutting it down.
    • Low numbers stocked in rivers.
    • Petition was passed around to resume past stocking levels.
    • More impact with actual signatures vs online.
  • Red Wind Fun Trip:
    • October 10-11.
    • Stay in Red Wing.
    • Fish fry
    • Call Scott S. or Jordan T. for information.
  • Running low on tackle for giveaways.
  • Pizza Ranch Official Fundraiser, October 15 5:00-8:00 in Waverly.
  • Volunteers still needed to run future events.
