Cedar Valley Walleye Club | Dedicated to Improving Cedar Valley Fisheries

PROJECTS AND ACTIVITIES

STOCKING EFFORTS The Club, along with Wildlife Forever, has stocked Brinker Lanke f/k/a East Lake, Big Woods Lake and Dike Lake with branded fingerling walleyes in 2003, 2004 and 2005. These stocked fish should be reaching the 10-12" range by the Fall of 2005.

ASSISTING THE DNR The Club has assisted the Iowa DNR in placing fish habitat into Brinker Lake. Club members arranged the donation of cement blocks and other materials necessary in the placement of the habitat structures. The Club also provided staffing and promotional assistance to the DNR at the annual trout-stocking event at North Prairie Lake in Cedar Falls.

RAISING FUNDS AND HAVING FUN The Club holds a series of fishing tournaments for its paid members. These tournaments raise funds for the ongoing activities of the Club. The top two trounament points champions will qualify for the Cabela's National Team Championship.

ENCOURAGING YOUTH The Club plans to reach out to the youth of the Cedar Valley through fun and educational fishing or habitat improvement events.
