Minutes for the March 1. 2010 Meeting

 

1. Doug Bonwell called meeting to order.
2.  Introduced new members
     Pat Williams
     Terry Vanlaningham
     Den Herder Vet. Hospital
3.  Doug Bonwell reminded members they need to volunteer to qualify for the
     Cabela’s Tournament
     Raffle, CVWC Bag donated by Milo won by Vern Fisher
5.  Lori Eberhard presentation.
1. Thanked club for all our help, our help really helps in cutting cost for the park.
2. Explained the Outdoor Journey for Girls program, started in 1992.
    Pheasants Forever is their main sponsor.
1. Girls from 12-15 learn to fish, camp, clean fish, hunt, survival skills and hunting
    And fishing safety.
2. Cost is $100.00 to sponsor a girl to the program for 3 days cabin and food included.
3. Lori needs volunteers from the club on the following dates.
1. May 25, 2010 from 9 to 2 at the boat ramp to help with fishing for 50 kids from
    Lowell elementary school.
2. June 5, 2010 family fishing during free fishing weekend. Lori needs
    Volunteers from 10 till 2, they also need extra poles and fish for the fish fry. Our rods & reels
    will be needed.
3. July 15, 2010 8 to 2:30 at lakeview lodge at Hickory Hills Park. (Outdoor Journey for Girls) 
    2 to 5 volunteers to help with fish cleaning and fishing. (We will need 10 to 12 +)
6. New business
1. Carl Teske told us about a Ballard’s trip May 26-30 $549.00 includes
     Lodging, boat, and food. Will be posted on the web. This is a Guided Charter Deal.
 7. Discussed giving the Journey for girls $200.00 and sponsoring a girl for 100.00.
1. Motion was first and seconded and the vote was unanimous to donate $200.00 and
    to sponsor a girl for $100.00
2. Look for a girl to sponsor by posting on our web site.
8. Milo report on trout stocking
1. Talked to Manchester & Elkader
2. Talked to Parks dept. about blocking off section for the kids at the trout stocking.
3. Kids trout stocking is April 10, 2010 from 10 till 2
9. Doug Bonwell encouraged members to keep visiting the web, hits to our new
    Website has seen a large increase. Need volunteers for sport show on Friday.
10. Kyle Colbert report
1. Treasurer report, club balance $4,318.00, sold $608.00 in raffle tickets so far.
2. Reminded of March 28 tournament, Reminded that we need to pre-pay tonight for boat
    numbers.
3. Blastoff will be changed this year and Kyle demonstrated the blastoff procedure,
    it will be controlled by vhf radio.
11. Matt Vlasak gave a very informative presentation about fishing tips and shortcuts
      To help us catch fish.
12. Raffle prize donated by Milo won by Matt Vlasak
